In the 2007 remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," Kidman starred as a Washington, D.C., psychiatrist who unearths the origins of an alien epidemic. The film was a disappointment at the box office. Minneapolis Star Tribune critic Colin Covert wrote, "'The Invasion' is a science fiction nightmare, the spectacle of actors who can do first-rate work trapped in a soul-destroying mechanism created by madmen."
