Animal eyes

Motherly love

Up until a few years ago, growing concern about the population of Bennett kangaroos led to new legislation to protect the 'near threatened' species. The arrival of this albino was an unusual addition at the zoo.

Long necks

Their long necks and legs keep their heads 6 to 9 feet above the ground, and their eyes are said to be the largest of any land vertebrate at 2 inches in diameter. Large eyes help them perceive predators at a great distance.
