Benoit Valentin, 12th, Men’s Freeski Superpipe Finals

France has been turning out some solid freeskiers in superpipe, including Benoit Valentin and two-time Dew Cup champion Kevin Rolland. At the Toyota Championships, Valentin had some solid tricks in his runs, like his cork 9, double 1260 and an alley oop flatspin 3. But falls plagued him and he finished finals in last place.

Torin Yater-Wallace, 3rd, Men’s Freeski Superpipe Finals

“Torin is the man,” said Dew Cup champion Kevin Rolland. “At only 16 years old, he’s really, really good and I’m scared about him. Every comp I’m really scared because he is too good. But he’s a good guy, I like him and I think he’s going to become a real big champion in the future.”

Joss Christensen, 9th, Men’s Freeski Slopestyle Semifinals

Park City, Utah local Joss Christensen linked together 10s on the two 60-75-ft. jumps that finished off the slopestyle course, starting with a switch right 10 into a switch double cork 10.

Kaya Turski, 1st, Women’s Freeski Slopestyle Finals

Kaya Turski won the previous women’s slopestyle event at the Dew Tour, then she won X Games, and at the Toyota Championships she won again and took home the inaugural Dew Cup for women’s slope. “I’m training really hard,” Turski said. “The opportunity of us being in the Olympics is really huge for me. I’m very excited to go and represent Canada in 2014.”

Bobby Brown, 3rd, Men’s Freeski Slopestyle Finals

Bobby Brown wasn’t able to defend his Dew Cup at the Toyota Championships, but he still put down some solid skiing like his right double cork 1260. “I was struggling on the course the last few days,” Brown said. “I’m just stoked that I’m on the podium.”

Mac Miller Concert in downtown Ogden, Utah

Winter Dew Tour fans and Utah locals came out in full force for the free Mac Miller hip hop concert that was held on the streets of Ogden following Friday’s Toyota Championships competitions.
