Gretchen Bleiler, 2nd, Women’s Superpipe Finals

Olympian Gretchen Bleiler finished second to fellow Olympian Kelly Clark at both events of the Winter Dew Tour. “I’m bummed,” she said. “Breck was super close. This was super close. It just keeps me motivated to keep working harder.”

Louie Vito, 1st, Men’s Superpipe Finals

“I got two seconds and what do they say? I was the bridesmaid and never the bride,” Vito said of his results at the first two Dew Tour events. “I get tired of being second. I’m stoked to be consistent but I wanted to at least get on top of the podium this year.” Mission accomplished after he scored a 98.00 to take the Toyota Championships win and earn his second consecutive Dew Cup for his overall season lead.

Iouri “I-Pod” Podladtchikov, 2nd, Men’s Superpipe Finals

“I-Pod’s riding so well, he’s so consistent and he definitely pushes me every time I snowboard,” Vito said. “So it was nice to be one and two with him going into the final stop because it made me make sure I was on my game and he definitely brought it for sure.”

Zack Black, 5th, Men’s Superpipe Finals

Zack Black started off his first run of finals with a massive frontside 900 to place second at the time, but a fall at the start of his second run forced him off the podium.

Sarka Pancochova, 1st, Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle Semifinals

Double threat Sarka Pancochova was on fire at the Toyota Championships, qualifying first in semifinals for slopestyle and also competing in semis for superpipe. She advanced to finals in slope, but had some trouble with a backside 5 on her first run, and she fell on the last hit on the second, which left her out of contention.

Spencer O’Brien, 1st, Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle Finals

Spencer O’Brien needed a win to earn her second career Dew Cup, and it came down to her last run to get it done. “I wasn’t really thinking very much on that last run, so when I stomped that last trick I was so happy,” O’Brien said. “It’s a lot of pressure when you don’t land your first run.”

Sage Kotsenburg, 6th, Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle Finals

With one of the best personalities on the Tour, it was a shame to see former Dew Cup champion Sage Kotsenburg struggle with his riding after he fell on the first obstacle of his final run.

Simon Dumont, 4th, Men’s Freeski Superpipe Semifinals

Simon Dumont goes bigger than most, and he’s accustomed to being on top of the podium, but this season at the Winter Dew Tour has been tough on him. At the first event he competed without poles due to an injury, he sat out of the second, and he was bumped off the podium to 16-year-old Torin Yater-Wallace at the Toyota Championships.

Eric Willett, 7th, Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle Finals

Eric Willett won the last stop of the Winter Dew Tour, but at the Toyota Championships he crashed on his first run and had a hand drag after a backside 9 on his second and final run, so he had to settle for 7th.

David Wise, 1st, Men’s Freeski Superpipe Semifinals

Davis Wise won the semifinals and went on to win finals. He attempted his first-ever 14 at the end of his second run, and he nearly brought it around. “My first run was good, it was really a solid run for me, so I kind of felt like I had to add a little bit of something to it,” Wise said. “The 14 was the first thing that came to mind, so dropping in I was like, ‘OK, I’ll go for that 14 at the end. I know it’s there. It’s just one extra rotation. I can get it.’”
