A photo released May 30 shows Yemeni anti-government protesters clashing with security forces in the southern Yemeni city of Taiz, May 29. According to media sources, a violent stand-off between government security forces and protesters continued into the next day in the southern Yemeni city of Taiz, after clashes left 20 protesters dead, and 150 injured. Some 37 of those injured were taken by security officials from hospitals. Widespread demonstrations demanding Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh step down from power have shaken Yemen for months. |
