This shot was taken while on a mission trip in Guatemala. I found that the elders held great respect from the community and were looked upon as filled with wisdom. This woman sat, watching the town move while admiring what was around her.

A man carries a bottle of water ("Life Saver") as hot streams of lava flow down Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala during twilight. I took this shot near the end of my yearlong travel through Latin America, and it still remains one of my favorites.

This photo was taken at the town square in Antigua Guatemala during Guatemala's 2009 Independence Day celebrations. Marching bands from all the local schools participated by marching through the streets. Eventually they all met in the park.

I just recently returned from a trip to Guatemala where I was provided the opportunity to build a house for a family. These two kids were a part of that family. It's amazing what a roof can do for someone. I can't wait to return and see them.

Chichicastenango is an ancient market town in Guatemala. The Maya have been having a market here for hundreds, if not thousands of years. This image shows a stall that is selling colorful hand-carved masks.
