A button-down shirt in chambray, as at Michael Kors, left, is perfect. Feeling a wee bit boho? A peasant top is great for the seventies moment going on in fashion right now. And it does double duty if you take a break for lunching or shopping during your beach day; just throw on a flowery midi-length skirt or a pair of khaki shorts and you’ll look great. —Tracey

What’s a good color for a swimsuit? —Alexa, 29, New York City Citrus orange is huge right now, but it’s not an easy color to pull off, especially if you’re very fair.
